Jeanne arrives after using Shamash's kiss for the first time on Ren Tao.

Week 0

Jeanne's initial exploration of the school leads her to Hunter and Thomasin outside the dorms, Yuta in the kitchen, Yasu and Sonic outside the school store, Kuro in the gym, and Reika outside it. They rush off to orientation, meeting the prefect (drivebys: A, B), at which time her attention is drawn by the apparently Christian witch, Carrie.

Though as late as Tuesday she is not familiar with the equipment used by Dewey, she takes the Wednesday Mystery in stride (gaining a positive and negative impression of Valmont and Dylan respectively) and by Wednesday morning has acclimated herself to the school, attending home ec alongside Rosalinda and Thomasin, training with Reika and Kuro, though she is dismayed by the latter's survey. Thursday Meeting links: Edward at Meeting; more meeting; drive-by // shit-stir; Koishi. Friday Fret.

Saturday

Jeanne does not win the spelling bee! Shecongratulates Yasu and Koishi before going to the dance with Reika and checking in on Emma. Valmont and Dylan bicker again.

The Principal then broadcasts into the dance threatening the students for being poorly behaved, leading to much gesturing and swearing and suspicion. In the face of Nanami's plea, Jeanne resists forming a chain with Reika and Thomasin. Jeanne questions the principal's authority, though it's earily plausible their enemies sent them. She dramatically declares it is time for church.

Week 1

The gospel of the beatitudes. The attendees include Reika, Luz, Fret, and Carrie. Adorabat is skeptical about heaven not being a place you can visit, while Jeanne allows Valmont to recruit Yasu as their maid for lunch afterwards. The Sunday meeting Jeanne thinks that Emma's BSL name sign "church" is the most significant development other than to briefy mention Nanami seemed brainwashed during their encounter Friday. Despite her clamor at Dylan's Shamash regain Monday, the motive announcement of enemies heading for the school leads her to be smug with Edward, curious with Fret, and most importantly breaking down in front of Carrie, finally accepting she has been depowered. She stands vigil that afternoon to return Luz and Ava's partners, get a glimpse of the planetarium Dylan likes, check on Sonic after his outburst over Nicole, watch Adorabat's card trick, and learn from Reika. Surprisingly, Emma and Kuro have their own concerns about church events.

What Reika acquired Monday becomes a Thursday night movie. Jeanne's sleepiness after this triggers a "Hallway Party" because she was not there at first.

Trial

Hallway evidence is presented first. Valmont is upset Koishi stole his turtle, which leads to Emma escalating her preexisting concerns. Jeanne is questioned over being barefoot and having Shamash, which is eventually assessed as pointless. Discussing enemies brings up Pyron Lee and killing Hao. Nail check leads to announcing the true nature of the Iron Maiden (3x)
Other questions are unproductive enough that they resort to a strip search and Luz's magic. Jeanne's Adorabat accusation is dismissed as heartless. Koishi's restlessness draws attention before Reika's condemnation // vote // enemy

Afterparty

Yuta discusses the motive. Yasu is released from church. Carrie worships the iron maiden while Emma worries abot it. Kuro challenges Jeanne to live normally. Jeanne asks for morning cookies from Thomasin, who has come to terms with a softer interpretation of the religious doctrine of the elect. Ava resents the principal.

Week 2

At Church the parable of the houses on rock and sand, attendance dwindling to Carrie and Valmont. At night she tackles the mystery of blood. The motive with Lyserg threatened infuriates her enough to call a meeting where she declares the principal will be killed and tries to reassure that the hostages could be faked.

Come Friday morning, Jeanne pessimistically dresses in gym clothes and checks the decontamination room only to realize that she must examine the victim Thomasin's room. She then informs Adorabat, Edward, and Hunter of her desire for parcels to be bought to trial. Her seatmate Kuro leads the check, with Valmont hesitating and Jeanne confirming that she has to let her hostage Lyserg be hurt and will never forgive the principal. The evidence is presented, with Hunter wondering if Thomasin was moved to kill; she concurs with Fret that Edward's reaction to his parcel was pronounced. Satori drip. Check/check/check, her blood faded. Bad theory. Edward confesses and she's catty when she has time but distracted by Ava's compliment towards Thomasin. Vote. Execution - even Anya agrees that the principal must be killed for this. As Jeanne tells Hunter, it is much like Hao's Spirit of Fire. She makes herself available with oatmeal cookies for Sonic, Yuta, and Emma.

Week 3

After the gospel of being born again, from behind Carrie's altar cross Jeanne leads them in song dedicated to the four fallen and is exhausted, alarming Valmont, Adorabat, Kuro, and Emma. Increasingly restless Monday, she faces the motive (kibble and Nanami aside) by declaring she will fast (which Sonic harshly condemns). Yasu fortells that a murder is inevitable, but Jeanne suggests the buddy system be saved for a less altruistic motive. She presents her library lore, a book section on Lamashtu that significantly influences her thinking. Thursday's shadow of death leads Valmont and Carrie to empty their hearts to her.

After the body discovery involving paint, Jeanne learns of Valmont's death and the letter he wrote to his parents in spite of imagining a future with her. After a passing comment on patrols she levies the ultimatum. She objects to the theory that Valmont went out on his own - conceding he might run away. Despite an unproductive weapons check and hand check Jeanne is accused of exploiting Valmont's trust to end the starvation for the greater good. This wearies her patience. Suspicion mounts towards Yuta, leading to his vote and fought execution.

Afterwards she learns Adorabat found the talisman. After some time outside approached by Carrie and Emma, she and Kuro eat Sonic's stew.

Week 4

Jeanne holds her final church, preaching the parable of the talents. Yasu is more interested in the new holographic butterflies. When the motive is announced, she consoles Sonic and Anya, while Dewey notices her paleness and they cut class. At the meeting: the case 3 fanfiction is discovered. Jeanne declares that "the holy girl iron maiden Jeanne has no secrets". Dewey discusses preferring the name Turbo. They discuss how the bird girl would eat like a bird ad her connection to swan lake. Jeanne expresses skepticism about a Buddy System. Come Thursday she is increasingly vague with Dewey and Adorabat.

Her actions Thursday night will be detailed in her confession. Come Friday morning, she wanders around first floor, finding blood on the playground and putting her clothes in the hamper. Meanwhile, Father makes an important declaration.

She presents the playground evidence and gives a few comments on what others have found: one two three four. She questions whether Dylan could be poisoned by chocolate.

In the midst of a clothing check by Kuro and shoe check by Yasu, the notch reveal leads Sonic to become highly suspicious of Jeanne, but he cannot convince the others with a specific theory for the pertinence of the notch, and Jeanne also manages to disprove drowning theory. Dewey comes to her defense, which is a surprise. She passes the hand check and chimes into Yasu's catherd. Yasu accuses Adorabat, Adorabat accuses Sonic who reveals his secret. When Yasu finally pushes the issue of the vest, Jeanne declares Logical Argument Warfare Start, implicitly admitting that her goal was to get the mass execution outcome, negotiate with Father upon her escape, and resurrect everyone including the previously killed.

Anya and Hunter quickly dismiss her as a delusional cultist; Fret and Koishi are able to take her belief in spirits quite casually. Sonic and Dewey are furious enough at Jeanne's craven duplicity to attempt to attack her, though they are stopped, not least because Adorabat has a naive excitement at the prospect of necromancy. Emma is initially apoplectic at the carelessness in the limitations of Jeanne's revival ability, but her heart is softened at the realization that the X-Laws were Jeanne's controlling foster family. Carrie also cannot hold onto Jeanne's coldhearted attempt to negotiate with Father, cannot imagine she'll see Jeanne again in hell. What surprises Jeanne the most is the realization that Kuro did not just find her actions of sacrifice foolish but wanted to keep her with them for her own sake out of friendship. The rivalry ends.

When the vote is called, she recounts her actions and reveals her secret: she is not a holy girl chosen by god. They should vote for her and send her to hell. (She is quite upset that Sonic does not vote.) Her execution returns her to the water whence she came.

Interlude: Inventory

What Jeanne brought to the trial and left on her podium:
  • little red backpack from school store (already established and to hold all the stuff in)
  • notebook and pencil with which the playground bloodstain sketch was created
  • breakfast bars
  • gacha utility knife for emergencies
  • iron maiden finger trap and Shamash (trap taken to memorial, Shamash TBD

Sard 1: Unspecified items left on blacktop. In room: Gold bar, two dresses, trick knife, yellow raincoat, sphere of selene, deck of cards.

Sard 2: praised items in room, other items left in store.

Sard 3: this stuff is in Valmont's room

Sard 4: These items are left in the gym

OTHER STUFF: Jeanne's room is sadly free of clothing after the hamper query though you might find the white bookmark ribbon from day 1. Jeanne loved books such as A Little Prince and was studying written Japanese as best she could but that would be like in her desk not her room.

CHURCH: The Ritz crackers were brought each time from the kitchen. The instruments were brought each time from the music room. The Bible, hula hoops, and Cross Carrie built were kept in the shed. The shed is also where the jump ropes for the case came from.

Deadland

Upon arriving, she confesses her plans to Reika and Valmont, who both react with kindness. Enough have gathered that they hold a meeting to discuss possibilities for informing the living of the doll's nature. An investigation is also held; Jeanne greets the returning brave adventurers with lunch, and they debate Yasu's reaction to Kakuya.

The phone line opens, Jeanne jumping on it with moshi moshi. She urges them to please bring Yasu along with pen and paper for Emma. She explains to Thomasin that a telephone conveys sound. Dylan rails against Yasu's attachment to the mastermind Kakuya in a way that Jeanne insists will not move a keen mind or fond heart, leading to quite the commotion as Valmont defends Jeanne's purity and his own non-murderous intentions the night he tried to retrieve the talisman, while Dylan doubles down on his original belief that they tried to help Jeanne but she was a "lost cause". Finally comes Jeanne's turn to speak to the living (Carrie).

Afterwards she checks on Thomasin, who explains her hidden past in more detail. Jeanne spends a good couple hours suffering and ultimately rests with Reika, admitting that she might put an end to her tortures and find a new path.

Carrie arrives, having been killed by Ava along with Koishi. Jeanne has the privilege of taking care of her. The next week passes with fog rolling in as Jeanne is spooky at Ao.

Endgame

The situation suddenly changes (driveby), leading Jeanne and Koishi to row out and explore a shrine in the middle of the lake. They then end up in a pile, in the barracks of an ocean platform she explores with Reika and Yuta. Edward then goes onto the roof with actual sunlight and sparkles. Jeanne confronts him about whether she is a lost cause.

Nagoshi No Gi - Jeanne announces the ritual and Fret helps return Shamash to his true form. Yasu and Emma defend Kakuya's ignorance, to Carrie's shock; Reika, Sonic, Dewey, and Kuro are more neutral. Jeanne asks Yasu how many people Kakuya must kill before Yasu kills her herself, asks Yuta whether it will help to isolate her. Valmont pushes the humanization plan to troll Dylan; Jeanne nudges him in the direction of pairing it with prison while Adorabat reminds him the talisman came back. Dewey brings up the curse, which Emma and Sonic confirm. Dylan and Jeanne are surprised, particularly because running the game requires intelligence, but Reika and Yuta point out Kakuya's lack of it. Carrie agrees with Dylan.

Dylan explains his agonizing pain to Sonic and Dewey, and Jeanne adds that her regrettable crimes were performed as a powerless human. Kuro shares her story of being given a second chance, though Jeanne emphasizes that her targets could defend themselves. Jeanne shares the scraps of lore, reminds the others that Kakuya has deceived and could continue to do so as a human like Father, and that the X-Laws can and will kill Kakuya. In addition to Adorabat and Edward, Jeanne and Kuro end up having an exchange about the power of a truly normal life. Reika considers belief the most viable long-term solution. Yasu's Compromise is that Kakuya be believed a body that is not human, but a fox, definitely impaired. Jeanne urges them to take courage and vote as a block.

Epilogue

After gathering herself for a while, Jeanne has to run to chase down Yuta and offer him her help. Jeanne thanks Emma. She takes her turn to waterboard Father under the watchful eye of Edward. She admits to Thomasin that she has no idea "what now" but cannot go home as the Iron Maiden, instead redesigning herself at Adorabat's memorial as the Thorn Maiden.

Sonic has made "chilly dogs" for the road, a bit of a chuckle. Jeanne seeks out Dewey and Hunter on the question of atoning to Dylan; she may have to accept that she can't. She reassures Valmont about his loneliness on the horizon and hatches new reaperly ideas with Fret.
